ATLAS Neuroengineering is becoming the standard in silicon-based electrophysiology. With our clean-room facility at IMTEK, Freiburg and imec, Leuven, we define the state-of-the-art for in-vivo electrophysiology. We deliver tools and solutions for the preclinical field and explore stepping stones to enter the clinical market.

Our innovative electronic depth control (EDC) probes allow high-density electrode recordings without mechanical electrode adjustment during the experiment. We also produce passive multi-electrode arrays for freely behavioral studies and custom probe designs.

ATLAS Neuroengineering defines the state-of-the-art by active involvement and participation in innovative projects at the national-, European and international level and collaborating with world leading center-of-excellence, industry and hospitals.

ATLAS Neuroengineering provides expert knowledge in silicon-based probe design, micro-technology fabrication, micro-assembly, interconnect and packaging techniques for new and existing data acquisition systems als well as experimental setups, histology and implantation methods.

Arno Aarts

Arno Aarts, CEO of ATLAS Neuroengineering, investigates the opportunities to exploit microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) in the electrophysiology field and how to integrate CMOS structures into the probe. Together with Tobias Holzhammer, COO of ATLAS Neuroengineering, they transferred the innovative probe technology, which was developed within the successful European FP-6 project, NeuroProbes into a product.
